Jen-Zen and the One Shoe Diaries
In the words of Jen-Zen, the novel's poet:
Nature can’t be captured
Just the
memories can.
They’re captured in the soul.

The Puppet
My strings are pulled.
My arms and legs move in response.
I stand.
I sit.
I dance.
I act.
I am the show.
In the hands of the puppet master every move is
planned.
One day my strings became twisted.
I veered off course.
I danced to a different beat, my own.
Then I crumbled in a heap.
I did not know how to be without my strings being
pulled.
I cried.
I shouted.
I screamed.
I stomped.
And I started to sing my own sweet melody.
